# Contributing to AIMPACT

AIMPACT welcomes engineering problems, open datasets, reproducible model baselines, research links and corrections.

## Contribute via GitHub
1. Fork the repository once a maintainer publishes it to GitHub.
2. Add a JSON entry in `contributions/datasets`, `contributions/models`, `contributions/problems`, or `contributions/research`, following the matching example schema.
3. For runnable baselines, add a notebook under `notebooks/` and instructions for obtaining licensed data. Do not include credentials or confidential data.
4. Run `python scripts/validate_contributions.py`.
5. Open a pull request describing source, license, limitations, validation and what changed. Maintainers review before merging.

If you are not comfortable using Git, use the contribution builder in `index.html` to export a JSON proposal and send it to a maintainer or attach it to an issue after the GitHub repository is published. The builder only downloads a local file; it does not upload or publish submissions.

## Minimum review checks
- Public sharing is authorized and license is identified.
- No personal, confidential, or security-sensitive material.
- Dataset/model provenance and limitations are explicit.
- Claims of performance are backed by reproducible evaluation.
- Links and notebook execution are reviewed when feasible.

## Governance
Anyone may propose a change; only designated maintainers merge. Accepted entries credit the contributor when permission is given.
